Orange Polska went trough the transformation from state own incumbent telco operator with more than 100 years history to convergent operator with own fix and mobile infrastructure, offering fully convergent package of wifi internet, LTE mobile and HD TV on FTTx, LTE and DTH. Originally there were two independent companies: one fix operator and second mobile operator.

From the operational point of view its merger was extremely demanding because of two main aspects:

• People and company culture
• IT

Open source applications were from the technological point of view one of the key element of IT systems transformation. But not only. Open source brings a change in a way hoe IT teams are working ang given=s unique opportunity to transform culture from legacy to agile.
